About Scúru Fitchádu

Scúru Fitchádu, whose real name is Marcus Veiga, is a Cape Verdean artist who stands out for his innovative approach to music, combining elements of Cape Verdean music with a punk, electronic, and disruptive aesthetic. His work falls within the framework of the « African matrix, » where he merges various musical influences.

Scúru Fitchádu’s live performances are renowned for their revolutionary and engaging nature, with appearances in clubs and festivals in Portugal and internationally. His shows are described as powerful and capable of captivating a diverse audience.

His first album, titled « Un Kuza Runhu » [A Bad Thing], released in 2020, was praised by specialized media, placing it among the best Portuguese albums of the year. This album helped establish Scúru Fitchádu as one of the most dynamic projects on the contemporary music scene.

In January 2023, he released his latest album, « Nez Txada skúru dentu skina na braku fundu, » a concept album inspired by pro-African revolutionary independence movements. This 11-track record is characterized by an experimental sound and a strong oral dimension, incorporating subversive and protest rhetoric.
